UM-Dearborn faculty and staff are encouraged to seek external grant and sponsored program support of their research, scholarship, curriculum development, and public service activities. The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs assists faculty and staff to:

•  find potential funding sources
•  obtain and interpret grant guidelines
•  prepare a sound, defensible budget
•  develop the grant proposal
•  complete sponsor and University forms
•  obtain University approval for external grant proposals
•  work with the Ann Arbor administrative offices to process a grant award
•  report proposal and award activity
