1. Logon to Fastlane starting with:  http://www.fastlane.nsf.gov/

and click on "Proposals, Awards, & Status" (upper left corner)

2. Select "Proposal Functions" then "Proposal Preparation" then "Prepare Proposal"

3.From this screen, the "Proposal Actions" screen, select "Allow SRO Access" and then the "GO: Allow SRO to view, edit and submit proposal" option.

You should see a notice that tells you an e-mail message has been sent to about six individuals, including Dave Plawchan and Jenny Ost (key DRDA staff responsible for NSF proposals).  This alerts DRDA staff that your proposal is on the system.

4. DRDA will not release the proposal to NSF until they have heard from you or from me (e-mail sent to Fastlane-Admin@umich.edu) that you have completed work on the proposal and it is ready to submit to NSF.  You may be contacted by DRDA staff recommending or requiring changes to the proposal; once you have made these changes, send a confirming e-mail

message back to DRDA.
