Here's how to assign a four-digit (alpha-numeric character) proposal PIN:

1. Logon to Fastlane starting with:

http://www.fastlane.nsf.gov/

and click on "Proposals, Awards, & Status" (top blue bar, left side) then logon to Fastlane (PI/Co-PI Login).

2. Select "Proposal Functions" then "Proposal Preparation" on left side of window.

3. Select "Prepare Proposal" (middle button) which takes you to the "Proposal Actions" screen

4. From the Proposals Action screen, select the proposal you're working on (if you have more than one proposal on your list) and select "Proposal PIN" (next to Print button) and type in a four-digit number or combination of alpha-numerics.

5. Tell me the Interim Proposal # and the four-digit PIN.  Once I have this information, I can view your proposal and approve it for the Campus.  I do not have SRO access and this is the only way I can review the proposal and make a copy for my records.
