Proposal Processing & Submission Deadlines
NOTICE: You must notify our office a minimum TWO WEEKS before your proposal deadline for us to provide the highest level of service and support. Less lead time significantly limits our ability to assist.
Be advised: proposals received on time will be processed before proposals that arrive late, in fairness to investigators who meet the published deadline. ORSP and DRDA will do all we can to submit applications on time, but you should be aware of the way that proposals are prioritized and the associated risk.
Deadlines Summary
Items must be received at DRDA before 5 p.m. on the indicated number of business days prior to the sponsor's deadline date. Items need to arrive at the Dearborn Research Office two additional business days ahead.
Grant applications must be signed by an authorized signatory in the Division of Research Development and Administration (DRDA) before submission to the sponsor.
The Director of Research & Sponsored Programs must sign off on all proposals on behalf of the Dearborn campus before they are received by DRDA.

Once DRDA has processed and launched all proposals that arrived within the deadline policy, late proposals will be handled to the best of the staff's ability. Note that problems beyond their control (such as corrupted files or Internet interruptions) may result in significant delays and proposals not being launched in a timely fashion. It might well be possible that DRDA staff cannot correct or even send a late proposal. Please review the complete deadline policy here. "Plan ahead: the chance for insurmountable obstacles increases in direct proportion to the closing of a deadline window."
